ENERGY EDUCATION
Energy Education is essential and energy is a second language for nearly everyone!
After decades of little change, the electricity grid is now undergoing a massive evolution. The energy system changing from a polluting, highly vulnerable, and inefficient network with large power generators located far from the majority of the end-users, to a clean and efficient smart grid. In this new world, there are opportunities to save money while promoting clean power, and every energy user will have an increasing role to play — including as power generators.
We were motivated to create these courses by the confusion surrounding these topics and the positive opportunities, including programs and community-based opportunities available but underappreciated and misunderstood. Community Choice Aggregation and Community Solar programs, not least. Our goal is to make it easier for you and your community to make sustainable, equitable and economically smart decisions relating to your individual and collective energy usage.
HOW TO READ YOUR ELECTRICITY BILL & HOW THE GRID WORKS
We have developed - and are developing - several educational courses that explain how to read your electricity bill and a multi-level, multi-method series of resources to help with understanding how the electricity grid works.

HOW TO READ YOUR CENTRAL HUDSON BILL
This first course, which was completed in August of 2020, explains the nuances of your Central Hudson Bill, and especially focuses on how our programs - Community Choice Aggregation and Community Solar - and other clean energy offerings, such as installing your own solar panels on your property, would change certain details of your bill.
We offer a live version of this course - which includes lengthy audience Q&A sections - for free to any interested municipality or community group located in Central Hudson utility territory. For now, we are offering such presentations online, but are excited to present in person once the opportunity arises.
